MSHA MINORITY STUDENT
LEADERSHIP PROGRAM
“The
Minority Student Leadership Program (MSLP)
provides mentoring for ethnic/minority students
by professionals who are aware of the many challenges and
benefits of being a minority in the profession of
speech-language pathology and audiology.” The program allows
minority students unique opportunities to explore, participate,
and experience activities that are designed to facilitate
leadership and future careers.
As MSHA reaches its 51 years of celebration, I share
with you my pleasure of reflecting on the history of success of the
MSHA Minority Student Leadership Program that has culminated into
strong professional/personal bonds between many mentors and students
in the state of Missouri. Keeping in mind the success of the past
program, I would like to honor the legacy left behind by the previous
chairs, students, and mentors of the MSLP.
In the fall of 2009, the University Departmental Chairs
will be sent a formal notice regarding applications for the MSLP 2010!
Please identify the minority graduate students and mentors in your
program and encourage them to apply for this wonderful opportunity.
Please note that the completed applications must be sent to Jayanti
Ray by Friday, December 18, 2009. Please feel free to send in your
questions or suggestions to
jray@semo.edu.
